Pat McGunagle, Senior Advisor
Pat McGunagle brings more than 30 years of experience in the banking and insurance industries, where he has held executive positions in strategic planning, financial management, project management and re-engineering initiatives. Mr. McGunagle career includes senior management positions at the Pan-American Life Insurance Company, AXA and Citibank. Mr McGunagle holds a masters degree in Public Administration, Labor Affairs & International Administration from Harvard University and a bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds Series 7 and 24 licenses with the National Association of Securities Dealers, and is a former member of the Operations Committee of the Securities Industry Association.
Howard Stein, Senior Risk Advisor
Howard Stein has been at Citigroup for 26 years in various capacities, most recently as Managing Director of Operational Risk in Citigroup's Global Corporate and Investment Bank in New York. He spent much of the last decade as Chief Risk Officer for Citigroup's Global Transaction Services and earlier in the same capacity for the Visa and Mastercard divisions. Mr. Stein was one of two Citigroup representatives to the Basel Committee's operational risk planning and implementation committees through the Institute of International Finance. In addition, Mr. Stein was the founding Chairman of the Risk Management Association's Operational Risk Council and member of their Board and Executive Committee. Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Stein worked in the treasurer's office at General Motors Corporation. Currently, Mr. Stein is Chair of the Advisory Committee at RiskBusiness, an operational risk consultancy. He serves on the Risk Committee of the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, assisting emerging markets and their banks to develop improved financial infrastructure. He is currently a trustee and treasurer of New York City's public radio stations and of Pratt Institute, a college of architecture and design. Mr. Stein received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
